Our First Christmas

This year, we celebrated our first official Christmas as "The Kamczycs!" After getting married, buying our first home, and all the other excitements 2016 had to offer, we decided to spend our holiday relaxing in the solitude and serenity of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. We soaked up every ounce of our surroundings we possibly could, watched hours of Christmas movies and holiday baking shows, braved the cold weather for calming dips in the hot tub, dried off by the fireplace, exchanged stockings, and I can't remember the last time I was so relaxed.

We could hear cows mooing in the distance, and a rooster crowing, and it felt like we were an entire world away, sitting in the sky.

Does my husband know me, or does he know me? He fed all my obsessions: magazines, scented candles, jigsaw puzzles, Elvis Presley, dark chocolate, photography (a fun Polaroid camera!) and orange tic-tacs. He won this year's stocking-stuffing, hands down.

This was the first Christmas in a lifetime of Christmases, and it's one I will never forget.
